Southern artist Taapsee Pannu may have bring out in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies but Taapsee is a Delhi based Sikh miss and David Dhawan is make known to her in Bollywood with the “Chashme Baddoor” re-create.
The director has think up a nickname for her Sikhni from South. In fact, Dhawan mixed up Rishi Kapoor when he hosted Taapsee to him as ‘Sikhni from South’ though shooting in Goa.
“Rishi seen a little baffled and asked Taapsee why such an rare name, which does not sound like a Sikh name, she answer back, ‘My aunt kept it’,” said a source. From then one and all on the sets in progress calling her ‘Sikhni from South’.
When asked about it, Taapsee hooted and said – “Both Davidji and Rishi uncle are Punjabis and it could be that is why he make known to me like this, but now it is a wont for him.
“He always presents me like this only. Davidji is very sweet and I had a blast shooting for ‘Chashme Baddoor’ and this is the perfect liftoff pad any one could have probed for.”
A cover of the 1981 movie of the same name, the new type of “Chashme Baddoor” also stars artists Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma.
